Luxor, Hurghada and Egyptian Museum.
Luxor is 14 hours south of Cairo by train. A mid-size city by the Nile where you can find temples, tombs, monuments, built 3 thousand years ago. The famous Valley of the Kings is there. I rented a bike and just strolled around ruins around the city for 4 days. Hurghada is 5 hours east of Luxor on the red sea by minibus. The town itself really isn't much, but the reef is spectacular. The diversity of the fish and the colors of the reef were stunning. I want an underwater camera! I did 2 incredible dives for 28 US dollars. This included equipment, hotel pick up, boat and lunch! The Egyptian museum is another amazing place in Cairo. The amount of antiquities is astounding. The Tutankhamen funerary chamber is out of this world. There is so much to see that you literally need a few days in the museum.
